What’s In My Bag?

I’ve been loving the resurgence of “what’s in my bag” videos on YouTube and hopefully, if you’re here reading this, you are too!

I can appreciate the art of a “purse bin/tray/box” where someone can store all of their items from day to day that go in their purse and easily transfer between bins. I do have a stash of a few items that are a bit more niche purse products, but for the most part my purse “method” is trifold: 1) multiple-times-a-day pockets 2) everyday pouch 3) less-used-but still-choosing to-tote-around-with-me pouch.

I reevaluate these items regularly, as well as which of the three spots they belong in, so this list is fluid. Below is what is most consistently where.

multiple-times-a-day pockets

  • Zipped pocket - wallet, keys (which also includes a scrunchie I attach to them)

  • Pocket #1 - everyday lip oil and everyday chapstick

  • Pocket #2 - AirPods, hand sanitizer, pen

everyday pouch

  • travel deodorant

  • travel thigh chafing stick

  • listerine spray (or mints or gum)

  • cuticle cream (or oil)

  • medicine tin with loop ear plugs, Advil, Tylenol, and my Iron meds

less-used-but still-choosing to-tote-around-with-me pouch

  • true lemon packets (with more in my lunchbox)

  • celcius packets

  • tampons

  • tide to go pen

  • combination hair brush and comb

often in the bag but not every day

  • sunscreen

  • bug spray

  • deck of cards

  • journal

  • kindle
